When did baptism start?
Baptism is a tradition that dates back long before the New Testament begins. By the time we meet John the Baptist in Matthew 3, baptism has become a public statement of a life dedicated to the Kingdom of God through confession and repentance.
What does baptism mean?
Baptism is an outward expression of something that happens inside us. When we say “Yes” to Jesus, we move from the Kingdom of Me to the Kingdom of God! In the language of the New Testament, we go from death to life! This is essentially shouting from the mountaintops and declaring yourself a child of the King.
Why get baptized?
The Bible says that all professing Christians should be baptized (Matthew 28:18-20). We believe that it is incredibly important (and exciting!) to share the work that God is doing in your life. Whether you've been following Jesus for a long time and never got baptized or are a new Christian, we would be honored to baptize you!
